Queen’s Park take on top Welsh team

-

Queen’s Park are looking to slay Welsh dragons for a second time this season when they face Connah’s Quay Nomads in an Irn-bru Cup quarter-final at Hampden this evening.

The Spiders saw off Welsh Premier League Champions, The New Saints, in Roundtwoandheadcoach Mark Roberts reckons his side can defeat the Welsh Premier League leaders if they believe in themselves.

Roberts said: “Connah’s Quay have European experience but so did TNS, they are full time as are TNS, and we got through against them. Connah’s are top of the Welsh League and TNS are three points behind and we have to believe that if we can beat one then we can beat the other.

“They are more physical and direct than TNS and they will be difficult to play against as they are more experienced than us. Also, they will get a lift from being at Hampden as it will be something very different for them.”

“There’s a semi-final place available and that is a huge prize I want us to win.”
