What’s the last piece of clothing you bought?

A personalised silk Motown dressing gown that has just been delivered. The whole cast has matching ones with our names on.

What are you addicted to buying?

Shoes and bags. I’m such a magpie – I love anything shiny and glitzy.

Best ever bargain?

I love shopping in outlet stores as you get more for your money. I also love finding designer vintage pieces, I have a beautiful Fendi coat that I found in a thrift store for £70 and it’s definitely my best bargain to date.

Who has great style?

Diana Ross, who I get to play, has always been one of my style icons. She always takes risks with her outfits and her performance ensembles were always out of this world. Being able to dress as her every night is a dream for me–the costumes are beautiful.

Name your favourite high street shop.

I love Zara but I prefer to shop in vintage shops. The thought that each item has lived many lives before me is also really special to me.

Any fashion disasters you’d care to tell us about?

In the show I wear a massive coat over a long red dress which is jewelled with beads and sequins and weighs a ton. I sing the number Remember Me in it. I have to wave it up and down like a bird’s wings and sometimes it gets caught under my heel, I haven’t fallen yet, but it has caused me a few stumbles.

What’s your favourite item in your wardrobe?

I don’t really have a favourite item, but I love a good faux fur coat for winter. I always purchase a new one every year. n
