Swinney seeks to strengthen India ties
Deputy First Minister John Swinney is to promote Scottish trade and investment on a trip to India.
Mr Swinney will hold meetings in Delhi and Bangalore with business and government figures during the visit from 23 to 29 November.
The trip is also aimed at strengthening education and cultural links between the two countries.
India is Scotland’s fourthlargest international market for further and higher education students, according to the Scottish Government.
Education secretary Mr Swinney will be joined by senior leaders from the higher education sector.
He said: “There is much we can learn from India, a country highly regarded for its spirit of creativity, entrepreneurship and young ambitious workforce.”
