Terror police ask for extra help at Xmas

-

Counter-terror chiefs are calling on shoppers and businesses to be their “extra eyes and ears” in the run-up to Christmas.

Senior officers want the public and retail staff to remain vigilant and report any suspicions to help them combat the risk of an attack.

While there is no specific information of an increased threat over the festive period, security measures will be deployed in town centres.

The Counter Terrorism Policing network is starting its largest ever winter advertising campaign.

Security messaging will be put on display at Christmas events and in key shopping locations to remind the public of the role they can play in helping to counter the terrorist threat.
