Perth dental business sold to acquisitive Portman
One of Scotland’s busiest dental businesses has been swallowed by Portman Dental Care for an undisclosed sum.
Specialist business property adviser Christie & Co said it had brokered the sale of Perth-based Caledonian Dental Care, which comprises two large practices with a total of 19 surgeries.
Caledonian was established in 1947 and acquired by John Cockburn in 1989. Mike San joined the practice as a co-partner in 1998, and the pair have organically grown the business together for 20 years.
The operations are now two of the busiest general dental practices in Scotland, with around 40,000 registered patients.
Steve Christie of Portman Dental Care said: “We are delighted to welcome John, Mike and the team to Portman. The outstanding quality at Caledonian Dental Care complements our growing Portman network within Scotland.
“This is our sixth acquisition in Scotland this year, having acquired our first Scottish practice in March.”
