Accountant and business adviser Johnston Carmichael has been reappointed to the audit panel of a body that protects the pensions of millions of employees across the UK.

The firm, which has 11 offices across Scotland, is among four on the new panel of the Pension Protection Fund (PPF). The business has been a PPF Audit Panel auditor since 2013,

The PPF protects people who belong to defined-benefit pension schemes. It operates an audit panel made up of firms with specialist audit and pension scheme knowledge and experience. As part of its role on the Audit Panel, Johnston Carmichael has worked with a series of high-profile PPF pension scheme audits, including Hoover and Toys R Us.

It also has a team of sector specialist pension scheme auditors to focus on core PPF work, in a wider 125-strong audit and assurance team. It isledbydavidmcbain, headof audit, and Chris Wilkie, audit director.
