Blaze at derelict school closes down town

Residents in part of a Fife town have been told to keep their windows and doors shut due to a major fire at a derelict school.

The alarm was raised at 9:20pm on Monday after fire engulfed a derelict primary school in Inverkeith­ing. Firefighte­rs were still tackling the fire yesterday. Several roads were closed and people living around Roods Road have been advised to take precaution­s to avoid smoke inhalation. High Street in Inverkeith­ing remains closed between Hill Street and Boreland Road. There have been no reports of injuries.
