Tragerhaus has just been completed and the family will spend Christmas in it, but with work taking them back to Sydney Linda feels it is wasteful to hold on to it.

Of the accolades that the house has attracted since completion, Linda says: “What is funny is that we didn’t build it to be a special house, we just wanted a house that we would like to live in. It was only as it was going up we really understood that it was something out of the ordinary.”

The approach from the road also means that entering Tragerhaus is something of a revelation for visitors.

Linda says: “We have had comments on why it took two years to build what seems like a garage, but when you come in it is a surprise what is hidden away quietly.
