Garcrogo, Corsock near Castle Douglas in Kirkcudbrightshire, is a lovely family home with almost eight acres of land which is all set up with a rural business for those who have a hankering to escape the rat race of urban living.

The current owners have extensively renovated both the house and the outbuildings to create a boarding kennel business.

The house offers spacious accommodation and retains original features, including graduated slates and dormer windows. It has been upgraded with contemporary features such as underfloor heating and woodburning stoves.

The main property has four bedrooms and a two public rooms, while the kennels – you could say – are equally luxurious.

The outbuildings have been extensively renovated to provide accommodation for 25 dogs. These include Perspex kennels units with underfloor heating, an office, washroom and an isolation unit.

There is further kennelling to the rear of the outbuilding and

this could be used to expand the business. There is lapsed planning permission for a further residential unit, so there is potential to add to the property.

In terms of unique features, one of the bedrooms in the house has a poem on the wall written by Percy Shelley when he stayed there.
