Killearn is a rural spot with great commuter credentials, finds Kirsty Mcluckie

Mactaggart and Mickel Homes has launched two showhomes at its development in the picturesque village of Killearn between Stirling and Glasgow.

Buchanan Views offers 24 three to five-bedroomed homes on the western edge of the village, set alongside lots of green space near Killearn’s pretty square.

The properties have far-reaching views to the Campsie Fells.

House types under construction are from the developer’s design collection with high specifications throughout, including sanitaryware by Laufen, tiling by Porcelanosa, and provision for fibre-optic connections.

Both showhomes, an Inchcolm and a Miller house type, have been styled by Gerry Burke with stylish rural interiors.

A palette of earth tones, enlivened by mustard and aqua, are complemented by softly textured wall coverings and fabrics, to create a warm and inviting space.

The village of Killearn enjoys good transport links across the Central Belt, it is 15 miles north of Glasgow and 20 miles to Stirling.

It also has good amenities with local shops, post office, and eateries. There is also a health centre, veterinary clinic, and sports pitches.

Of the two showhomes, the fourbedroom Inchcolm with detached double garage is in a prime, elevated position. From the outside, it has the appearance of a dormer bungalow, while inside every room is spacious and full of light.
