A man has been charged with the murder of his 10-year-old son and the attempted murder of a girl found seriously hurt in the house where the boy was found dead.

Andrew Morris, 37, is accused of killing Coupar Angus boy Kane and attempt- ing to murder an eight-yearold girl.

He made no plea at a private hearing convened at a Perth police station and has been remanded in custody.

Kane was found dead at a property on Union Street in Coupar Angus around 2:30am on 11 November.

An eight-year-old girl was found critically injured at the same property. Morris was arrested close to the property shortly after police arrived.

The girl remains in hospital receiving treatment for serious injuries.

Floral tributes and teddy bears were left in tribute to Kane as his classmates returned to Coupar Angus Primary School after the weekend. A bunch of roses and lil- ies were laid with a handwritten note that read: “To Kane. I will remember you and I miss you.”

One of his former teachers said: “He had a wicked sense of humour. He was such a funny, happy little boy.

“I only taught him for a short time but he just stands out so much ... it is so horrible to think he’s gone.”
