First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has said that Conservative Scottish Secretary David Mundell must resign if he is to retain a “scrap of principle or credibility” after details emerged of the post-brexit fishing deal.
@Davidmundelldct responded: “Not taking lessons on standing up for fisherman from Nicola Sturgeon who is committed to trapping them in hated CFF. @sff_uk _uk point out the Declaration gives the UK the power to assert its position as an independent costal [sic] state with practical sovereignty over our waters”
@annblackford1 wrote: “David Mundell reneges on his resignation over back stop and admits Tory deal is one tiny step up from the apocalypse no deal. Scotland deserves better. Meanwhile Nicola Sturgeon is leading on political collaboration to save jobs and protect trade from Tory destruction.”
@dhothersall added: “So, you know, Sturgeon is probably broadly right about Mundell. But when our politics has descended into an argument between the untrustworthy over who is the least trustworthy of the lot, the people are not being well served.”

Justice secretary Humza Yousaf has said he is looking “extremely closely” at the issue of secure provision following the death of William Lindsay.
@Humzayousaf posted: “My thanks to Katie Allan’s parents who met with me today, they also raised the case of William Lindsay (Brown). They have made a number of requests of me - I will give them careful consideration. I am clear, we do not have to wait for an FAI to make certain changes.”
He then added: “Many MSPS also shared their thoughts on changes they believe have to be considered - I will work cross-party on this issue. These young ppl are entrusted in our care, it is vital everything possible is done to take care of their health & wellbeing.”
@INQUEST_ORG wrote: “Scottish courts must dramatically reduce the number of people being sent to prison in order to save lives, according to judicial experts. The call comes in wake of self-inflicted deaths of Katie Allan, 21, & William Lindsay, 16, in Polmont YOI this year.”
