Half-hearted
David Edgar (Letters, 22 November) disapproves of pupils at ban ff academy being taught the Scots language and thinks they should only be taught English. It calls to mind Alasdair Gray in his novel Poor Things, when one of his characters says, “People who care nothing for their country’s stories and songs are like people without a past – without a memory – they are half people.”
