Limits on portion sizes, maximum calorie limits and calorie labelling are among measures set to be considered for Scotland’s cafes and restaurant­s as part of the country’s efforts to curb obesity.

Shut down the Holyrood canteen and do not allow alcohol to be consumed anywhere on the premises. On second thoughts, just shut down Holyrood and save a fortune.

oneworld72 It is now becoming ridiculous, day after day our freedoms are being eroded in an attempt to drop costs in the NHS. It isn’t worth it. If I owned a restaurant I would sue the government for removing my civil liberties and that of my clientele and I would win the case.

Albert Burton I go to restaurant­s to indulge. I don’t go to them every day or even every week. If you go to a greasy spoon every day and that’s the cause of your obesity, that’s your fault. Why should I be punished? And fixing obesity doesn’t just come down to cafés and restaurant­s. Check the cupboards and freezers of these folks. Check their exercise levels. It’s not a targeted fix. It’s a holistic lifestyle change.
