Hornby steams in with lower losses

Hornby has seen half-year losses narrow after “slamming the brakes” on an aggressive discounting strategy that was eroding custom.

The model-maker, which also owns Scalextric, posted a pre-tax loss of £3.2 million for the six months to 30 September, down from a deficit of £5.7m in the same period last year.
