Healing hands: Scottish rugby star makes his mark with Edinburgh Award
Rugby legend Doddie Weir – whose campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease research following his diagnosis with the condition has caught the public imagination – left impressions of his hands cast in clay with the help of Leigh Bradley from the Colin Braid Stone Workshop to mark his winning the Edinburgh Award. The handprints were gilded and laid outside the City Chambers next to the prints of previous Edinburgh Award recipients yesterday.
