Man in critical condition after crossing collision

A man is in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a car while crossing the road.

The 64-year-old was struck in Paisley, Renfrewshire, on Thursday.

The incident happened at about 6:25pm on the north-bound carriageway of Gallow Green Road near its junctions with Maxwellton Street and Broomlands Street.

It is understood the 50-year-old female driver of the Vauxhall Mokka was not hurt. The man is being treated at Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where his condition is critical.
