Pair cut from car wrecks after Highlands crash

Two people have been cut free from their vehicles after a crash on the A9 near Aviemore.

Emergency services were called to the incident involving two cars and a lorry about 11:20am yesterday.

The two people cut free by firefighte­rs have been taken to hospital. Police Scotland was last night yet to confirm the extent of any injuries from the collision.

Four fire appliances attended the scene. A heavy rescue unit from Inverness was mobilised, but was not needed. A diversion had been put in place.
