UK to give aid to drought victims
Britain will provide vital food, shelter and clean water to hundreds of thousands of Afghans at risk from a deadly drought, the International Development Secretary has said.
According to the United Nations, an estimated 260,000 people have been displaced as a result of the drought that has hit western Afghanistan the hardest.
Penny Mordaunt said millions of Afghans have already been affected by the natural disaster, with many forced to leave their homes.
