No deal could collapse government, says Hunt
The Government may collapse if MPS reject Theresa May’s Brexit deal at a crucial vote in the Commons next month, the Foreign Secretary has claimed.
Jeremy Hunt said it was “not possible to rule out anything” if the Prime Minister’s plan was defeated, including a new government having to be appointed.
He also warned that Brussels may refuse to make any changes to the agreement if Mrs May tried to return to the negotiating table, resulting in the UK crashing out of the EU with no deal. Mr Hunt added that the vote was “looking challenging” but said “a lot can change over the next two weeks”.
