Ten-try All Blacks still sloppy

-

Italy, Scotland’s first opponents in the 2019 Six Nations, were thumped by New Zealand in Rome at the weekend as the All Blacks took out their frustration from losing to Ireland the previous week by romping to a 66-3 victory.

It was actually far from a convincing performance by Steve Hansen’s side and there was a glut of sloppy errors but they still managed to run in ten tries against Italy for the first time. It was their biggest margin of victory against italy since winning 70-7 at the 2003 World Cup.

Wing Jordie Barrett scored four tries, there were three for full-back Damian Mckenzie and one apiece to TJ Perenara, Ngani Laumape and Beauden Barrett, who converted five. Richie Mo’unga converted the last three.

Italy’s only response was a penalty from Tommaso Allan.
