Attacker sought after man seriously injured

An assault in Edinburgh’s Cowgate area has left one man seriously injured.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the assault, which took place between 12:30am and 1am on 26 October.

A 29-year-old man suffered serious injuries to his head and body. A 24-yearold man was also assaulted and suffered a minor injury.

Detectives are searching for a man described as white, aged in his mid-20s, 5ft 10ins tall, of slim build and with short blond hair. He has a sleeve-style tattoo on his left arm and other tattoos on his right arm.

The suspect was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans, white trainers and spoke with a Northern Irish accent.

Detective Constable Leigh Inglis described the assault as an “unprovoked attack”.
