Four dead after crash: Helicopter landed in residential area
Four Turkish soldiers were killed and another was left injured after a military helicopter crashed in Istanbul.
The aircraft was involved in a training exercise at the Samandira air base when it crashed in the middle of a residential area in the Sancaktepe district.
Defence minister Hulusi Akar said: “These heroic aviation personnel of ours made an effort to make an emergency landing for reasons we do not yet know. It is understood they made a great effort to do this without hurting anyone.”
