Mobile case firm nets hat trick

- By EMMA NEWLANDS

A mobile phone case business that launched six months ago has achieved a “promotion to the Scottish Premiership” after scoring licensing deals with Edinburgh’s big three professional football clubs.

Nostalgia Cases has grown its product offering from 250 cases at launch to more than 900, featuring in excess of 250 team designs that can be made to order for up to 100 different phone models.

And it has sealed deals with Heart of Midlothian, Hibernian and Edinburgh City, which will see the start-up become an official mobile phone case provider for each club. That complements its officially licensed cases for St Mirren, Partick Thistle, Greenock Morton and Ayr United, among others.

Mark Boyd, founder and MD of Nostalgia Cases, said: “It has been great to see so much support within the local area, with Hearts, Hibs and Edinburgh City all coming on board within a week of each other. We’ve now got licensing deals with 16 professional clubs, but Hearts and Hibs saw our dream realised of a promotion to the Scottish Premiership.

“I’m delighted that the business has quickly got to a stage where we can attract the interest of such established and successful clubs.”

Marilyn Stewart, head of retail for Heart of Midlothian FC, said: “We are delighted to offer Hearts supporters the opportunity to purchase a phone case featuring some of the most iconic jerseys from the club’s history.”

Michael Pentland, commercial manager at Hibernian FC, also commented: “We are excited to be partnering with Nostalgia Cases, giving supporters a chance to purchase a unique phone case to reminisce about past shirts.”

And Edinburgh City FC chairman Jim Brown, said the firm has “brought an exciting and innovative idea to the market… we hope this partnership will provide our supporters with a new and unique way for them to back the club.”
