Bollan shuns cup talk

- By CRAIG STEWART

Cowdenbeath boss Gary Bollan is looking for his side to take another step towards having their first good season in five years when Queen’s Park visit tonight.

Recovering after successive relegations and then successive pyramid playoff fights is certainly more important to the Blue Brazil than next month’s Scottish Cup tie with Rangers.

“The cup draw has given us a lift, but it is back to business as normal,” said Bollan. “We’ve won four of the last five games but, in terms of our season, we have not done anything yet. This club has had a number of disappointing seasons and our objective at the start of this one was to ensure that was not the case.”

Queen’s Park’s head coach Mark Roberts reckons that his side will have no problems moving on from Saturday’s 3-0 Scottish Cup defeat by Raith Rovers.

Roberts said: “This game is more important as we were not going to win the Scottish Cup but winning this one could take us into a play-off place. It will be more gritty than pretty but we will look to get a result and move on.”
