Don’t drink and drive: Festive crackdown is launched

Motorists are warned not to risk drinkdrivi­ng as authoritie­s launch a festive crackdown.

Minister for community safety Ash Denham, Lord Advocate James Wolffe QC, and Asst Chief Constable Mark Williams launched the campaign in Edinburgh, warning motorists not to risk drink-driving as the consequenc­es can be devastatin­g, with chances of being caught higher than ever. The 2017-18 campaign saw 567 drivers fail a breath test.
