#BREXITDEBATE

The Prime Minister wants to debate her Brexit deal with the Leader of the Opposition. The Sun claims the debate will be on 9 December, just two days before a crucial commons vote on the deal.

@Paulbranditv posted: “It’s a brave PM who’s willing to take on the jungle, even if it’s just in the ratings. Theresa May debating Jeremy Corbyn on the night of the I’m a Celeb Final, the biggest rating show on TV? Hmm.”

@Nicolasturgeon said: “I can’t speak for @ jeremycorbyn, but I’d be up for a full leaders’ debate on the ‘deal’. So, how about it PM @theresa_may?” MP @Anna_soubry added: “@jeremycorbyn says he’d ‘relish’ debating PM re Brexit agreement – not sure many others would. Both support Brexit & it should be a balanced debate so @peoplesvote_uk must be included on equal terms”

@adebradley said: “Confused about the Corbyn vs May debate? What’s the aim of it? If she gets anything other than a knockout win then how will it convince MPS they have no choice but to back her deal? Arguably it could give them more freedom to vote against.”

@Jonathanarnott MEP wrote: “Just to be clear. Leave won the referendum. So Remain campaigner Theresa May has challenged Remain campaigner Jeremy Corbyn to a televised debate on implementing Brexit, leaving Leave supporters unrepresented, abandoned and ignored – as usual?”

#MARSLANDING

US space agency Nasa has landed a robot on Mars after a seven-minute plunge to the Red Planet’s surface.

@NASA posted: “Our Mars Odyssey orbiter phoned home, relaying news from @NASAINSIGHT indicating its solar panels are open & collecting sunlight on the Martian surface.”

@Nasa_johnson replied: “Congratulations, @NASAINSIGHT and @NASAJPL! We look forward to all the knowledge the Insight Lander will provide us about Mars as we prepare astronauts for the same destination.”

US punk band @Greenday tweeted: “Officially landed on Mars – ‘Green Day Since 1986’ was etched on a chip on the Mars Lander that landed at Elysium Planitia today. Out of this world.”

Comedian @chelseahandler joked: “NASA landed the Insight lander on Mars. The lander has announced it will stay there until Trump is out of office.”
