We have lived with this in Scotland since 2014 and now in the UK. No matter what the result of any subsequent referendum on either matter the country will remain completely divided. People will wonder whether it is worthwhile voting whilst others may take a more direct view. Politicians must beware of the consequences of overthrowing a democratic vote just because they do not like the result.

The scaremongering continues and gets more bizarre every day. Are Police Scotland just ensuring there is no shortage of Guinness?
634TDJ If the EU want to impose a hard border between the UK and the Irish republic, the onus is on them to police it. We can police anything coming into the country at the ports and airports, and the N Ireland police can see who leaves from their ports and airports and forewarn the authorities here so they can put them back on a boat to the republic.

Stuart Strange, in September a report leaked to the Sunday Times said that UK police forces were making contingency plans to cope with up to six months of civil disorder following Brexit. If
