Car production falls amid uncertainty
Car production fell by almost 10 per cent last month, with 15,200 fewer vehicles produced compared with the same month last year, new figures show.
The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders blamed the decline on uncertainty over Brexit, “market turbulence” in the UK and overseas, and changes of car models.
Production for the UK market fell by 12 per cent, the fifth consecutive month of decline. Overseas demand was down 9 per cent.
