Elderly man dies after car crashes in to field

An elderly man has died after a car left the road and crashed in a field.

Police spotted the silver Skoda Karoq in a field at the south end of the village of Muasdale in Kintyre when they were passing at about 3:10pm on Tuesday. Other emergency services were called and the 90-year-old male driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said from inquiries carried out so far, it is believed the vehicle may have been in the field for a number of hours.

They are appealing for information about the crash on the A83.
