Dick Van Dyke takes a practically perfect bow with the new Mary Poppins

Mary Poppins star Dick Van Dyke was joined by the stars of the long-awaited sequel when it had its world premiere in Hollywood. eremy Swift, Linmanuel Miranda and Emily Blunt are appearing alongside the 92-year-old actor in Mary Poppins returns.

He is the only actor from the original 1964 film to return in the sequel, which features 35-year-old Blunt in the role made famous by Julie Andrews.

The gap between the two films is believed to be one of the biggest in cinematic history.

Set in Depression-era London, the new film sees a nowgrown-up Jane and Michael Banks, along with Michael’s three children, visited by the enigmatic nanny.
