Funeral details for Edinburgh writer

The funeral of long-serving Evening News columnist John Gibson will take place on Thursday 13 December at 11:30am in St Cuthbert’s Parish Church in Lothian Road.

John passed away peacefully at the Western General Hospital on Thursday last week, aged 85.

The funeral, a celebration of his life, will be conducted by the Rev Charles Robertson, former minister of Canongate Kirk, a long-time friend of John’s. Edinburgh businessman Willie Mcewan will give an appreciation.
