Pedestrian in serious condition after hit and run

A man is in serious condition in hospital after he was struck by a car in a hit and run.

The 33-year-old was crossing Nitshill Road at its junction with Darnley Mains Road near to Sainsbury’s when he was struck by a dark-coloured Seat Ibiza travelling west along Nitshill Road.

Police said the car is likely to have been damaged but did not stop after the incident on Saturday around 4.35pm. Passers-by helped the injured man.

He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where his condition as serious.
