Motherwell Forward, backward

- Derek Wilson

Motherwell appear to be operating on the basis of one step forward, one back. It’s hugely frustrating but an improvement on the early season form of one step back and then another one. But few who saw the pitiful performance at Livingston could argue it wasn’t one of the worst so far this season. The fact it came just seven days after the high point of dismantling Aberdeen, only adds to the intrigue. Inconsistency plagues several teams in the lower half of the league but it is questionable whether ours is due to ability or attitude. If the latter, Stephen Robinson’s job remains at risk. We meet Celtic tonight then head to Tynecastle, so it’s hard to see immediate hope of relief from our ongoing battles.
