Housing estate plans drawn up for Borders town

Plans for a new affordable housing estate in Duns have been submitted to planning chiefs.

Elgin-based Springfield Properties want to build 57 homes in Langtongate on land to the north-east of Berwickshire High School.

The field, which is agricultural grazing land, has been designated as a site for housing by the Scottish Borders Council.

The Co-operative Group tried to build a large store at the site four years ago.
