Kearney won’t rush Hammill

-

Oran Kearney is prepared to play a waiting game on Adam Hammill’s future.

Hammill faces a big decision over whether to extend his stay at St Mirren, with his short-term deal due to expire next month.

Paisley boss Kearney has held talks with Hammill but with the 30-year-old’s family still living down south he admits that the attacker is right to weigh up all his options.

Hammill has made a major impact since joining in October and scored stunning long-range strikes against Hibs, from his own half, and Hearts.

“Adam’s on a deal until January,” said Kearney, whose side visit Livingston today. “From a football point of view he’s really happy but he’s got a young family still living down in the Midlands. So there is more to it than just football.

“We’ve had loads of chats but there are things we need to get clarity on, for both parties. There’s no rush… I know he’s happy at this moment.”
