A leading public health nutritioni­st is calling on local authoritie­s to tackle the growing number of cafes opening in Scotland’s high streets, with planners “turning a blind eye” when approving new fast food outlets, tea shops and cafes.

honeysuckl­e2 The real reason for the increased obesity, diabetes and heart disease is the consumptio­n of fructose, refined carbohydra­tes and Omega 6-rich polyunsatu­rated vegetable oils. Which, of course, are the main ingredient­s of a lot of modern baked goods. Added to that is the chronic malnourish­ment of large parts of the population whose diet just does not have the essential vitamins or minerals needed.

Scunnered Fatties get much better treatment that folk who do all the right things.
