- By CRAIG P STEWART

Arbroath extended their lead to 13 points after Bobby Linn grabbed a hat-trick in a 3-2 Angus Derby success at Forfar.

Linn found the far corner after just eight minutes but the Loons were level early in the second half when Lewis Moore fired home. John Baird’s 30-yard shot restored parity after Linn had scored again, with the Gayfield man then smashing home a 40-yard free kick after Michael Travis was dismissed.

Arbroath lost Thomas O’brien to a late red card, with assistant manager Ian Campbell saying: “Individual players had to win their battles. Nobody did that more than Bobby.”

Montrose defeated second-placed Raith 3-2 thanks to Ross Campbell’s breakaway goal. Daniel Armstrong had the Kirkcaldy men winning but Martin Rennie and Craig Johnstone turned that

around before Kevin Nesbit levelled.

Stranraer scored three times in the final 29 minutes to draw 3-3 at East Fife. Aaron Dunsmore and Daryll Meggatt scored before half-time and it looked game over when Craig Watson headed in.

Adam Cummins fired in a penalty before Innes Cameron nodded home with ten minutes left. After Meggatt was dismissed, Chris Mcgowan cracked home a free-kick, with Cummins sent off for dissent.

Dumbarton’s Brad Spencer struck in injury time to secure a 1-1 draw against visiting Airdrie who led through Leighton Mcintosh’s header.

Stenhousemuir won 2-1 at Brechin where substitute Alan Cook hit the winner after Mark Mcguigan’s penalty was cancelled out by the home side’s Jordan Sinclair.
