Attack leaves pony needing 28 stitches
Police are investigating an attack on a pony that left it with an 18-inch cut across its body.
The 12-year-old Connemara and Highland-cross pony needed 28 stitches following the incident in the Shivas area of Ythanbank in Aberdeenshire.
It happened some time between 4:40pm on Friday 30 November and 11am on Saturday 1 December.
Officers said there have been no other incidents in the area and are appealing for any information.
