#DENNISSKINNER

Veteran Labour MP Dennis Skinner was accused of opening a new front in the row between the SNP and Jeremy Corbyn’s party over Brexit.

Stewart Mcdonald, SNP MP for Glasgow South, claimed that Skinner had called him a ‘piece of s**t’ after criticism of Corbyn for not tabling a no-confidence motion in Theresa May’s Government.

@Missnortonc claimed: “Pots and kettles. I recall the newly-elected SNP MPS jeeringly trying to force Skinner out of the Commons berth he’d occupied for decades when they arrived in 2015.”

@Cameronmoy said: “Dennis Skinner only demeans himself with language like that. If he considered matters more fully he might realise there comes a time for dignified retirement.”

@Ko_o’neill posted: “The correct response to Dennis Skinner swearing at people in the chamber, like Father Jack, is a polite but awkward laugh & to ignore it.”

@Seansfh advised: “Come on, @Stewartmcdonald, I thought you came from Castlemilk, quietly give him some of the local parlance in response!”

@Brownfox_aye said: “I’ve admired him in the past for standing up to the Tories. Looks like the poor old soul has lost his way. Imagine saying that to anyone in parliament. Just opened my eyes to what he thinks of Scots.”

#CHER

There was huge excitement as it was announced that pop superstar Cher would take in Glasgow as part of her new tour. The Believe singer will visit the Hydro next October as part of a UK and Ireland tour that will see her visit London, Birmingham, Dublin and Manchester.

@Louisaomeilan tweeted: “OH MY God THIS IS NOT A DRILL @cher has announced a UK tour, I am going!! CHER PLEASE CAN I BE YOUR WARM UP ACT.”

@Mrsphilperry posted: “If you think for one second I’m going to go to O2 and take out a brand new phone contract just so that I can get pre-sale Cher tickets, you’re absolutely correct.”

@Barrabest joked: “Would kindly ask that no one go near ticketmaster until after I get @cher tickets on Friday. Thanks :-)”

@Lorrainepblyth opined: “In general I think there are far too many ‘old stars’ staging massive tours, charging ridiculous ticket prices for less than great performances.”
