Allen safely into round 2
Beaten UK Championship finalist Mark Allen is safely through to the second round of the Scottish Open.
Northern Ireland’s Allen, beaten 10-6 by Ronnie O’sullivan in York on Sunday, overcame China’s Liang Wenbo 4-2 in Glasgow. There were mixed fortunes for the Scots in the afternoon session with Scott Donaldson and Alan Mcmanus through and Fraser Patrick knocked out.
Donaldson beat England’s Rory Mcleod 4-2 and veteran Mcmanus had a 4-3 victory over John J Astley ofengland but Patrick went down 4-3 to Chen Feilong of China.
