Testing festive season

Saints have a had a real problem with sticking the ball in the net for large parts of the season. But, having scored in four out of the last five matches, the team’s woes in front of goal look like coming to an end.

You would think such a turn in goalscoring form would bring back some optimism but, unfortunately, disappointment has moved to somewhere else. Saints lost a lead three times in their last two games against Hibernian and Livingston.

Having slid to the foot of the table, answers need to come sooner than January. A difficult festive period looms and with Dundee progressing in strides, the woes look set to continue.
