Heart of Midlothian
Signs of recovery
When Andrew Dallas awarded the worst penalty ever to deny us a rare win in Perth, our luck seemed at rock bottom, but Saturday maybe hinted at a change in fortune as well as performance. Willie Collum had a decent game, but Motherwell will argue their goal should have counted.
The manager shuffled the pack again, deploying Michael Smith as sweeper and pushing the full-backs on to provide width. Smith played brilliantly in an unfamiliar position and Arnaud Djoum, restored to central midfield, was at the heart of our most creative moves. Oli Bozanic provided energy and a quality cross for the winner. It’s great to see the skipper back winning every header and signs of recovery are palpable.
