Early form required

A victory achieved in almost any manner was the important thing at Hamilton and, if it wasn’t exactly a return to the swashbuckling football Hibs fans had become accustomed to until as recently as two months ago, it was an improved display throughout the team.

Having drawn at home to St Mirren, there was pressure on the team and management to deliver three points and they rose to the challenge.

However, performance levels will have to be ratcheted up further between now and the end of the year, starting with Sunday’s fixture with Celtic who are capable of ripping apart defences, and something akin to our early-season form is likely to be required if we are to take anything at all from the encounter at Easter Road.
