Unexpected bonus

Some would say our weekend result was just Celtic flexing their muscles and telling those who wish to be contenders that we are still swinging and have that knockout punch.

I think that is an arrogant assumption that doesn’t fully credit the hunger this squad has shown since Brendan Rodgers took over and the upturn in form since the end of September.

It also discredits the rest of the league who have given us some fabulously tough games.

We have advantages over others but I wouldn’t be a football fan if I didn’t enjoy my team being utterly delicious doing what I spend far too much time and money bothering about. That we have it in our own hands in Europe this week is a bonus that I never saw a few weeks ago. It’s a free hit.
