Boy charged over knife attack

A 13-year-old boy has been charged in connection with a knife attack on three pupils near a school.

West Midlands Police said it had charged the youngster following an incident at about 4:20pm on Monday in Weoley Park Road, in the Selly Oak area of Birmingham.

He has been charged with two counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and another charge of attempted wounding.

The youngster was due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
