Dunfermline Athletic Ghastly decision

- John V Lloyd

In the week when film buffs rejoiced that Scotland will, at last, get studios at Leith, an assistant referee at Firhill made his pitch for a part in the new Superman movie.

Displaying x-ray vision, he awarded Partick Thistle a goal. Yet he will know the rule that “the whole ball must cross the goal line”. His ghastly decision, from more than 20 yards, may yet cost players’ jobs!

So far the Dunfermline board has resisted the siren voices fearing our promotion hopes are being dashed on the rocks if manager Allan Johnston is not tossed overboard. The problem is we have moved from anger, despair and abuse to apathy, ambivalence and resignation. Isn’t that worse?
