Three injured and in hospital after major crash

A head-on crash on the A75 in southern Scotland has left three people in hospital.

The accident happened shortly before 7:30am yesterday on the Dumfries bypass between the Annan Road and Lockerbie Road roundabout­s.

Two drivers and one passenger were taken to Dumfries Infirmary for treatment after a Mercedes van and Vauxhall Insignia car were involved in the collision.

Details of the injuries have not yet been released.

A diversion was put in place while police investigat­ed the scene.
