Police fear for 90-year-old man missing for two days

- By PAUL WARD

Searches are continuing for a 90-year-old man missing from his home for two days.

Neighbours reported William Scott missing on Tuesday evening from Chesser in Edinburgh.

Initial inquiries found he had been in the Foot of the Walk pub in Leith at 3:45pm and Greggs in the Kirkgate Centre at 4pm, but no further sign of him has been found.

Police said they were “extremely concerned” because of his age and recent poor health.

Mr Scott is white, around 5ft 1in tall with balding, white hair. He regularly wears glasses and was last seen wearing a navy jacket, grey trousers and a dark flat cap.

Chief Inspector David Robertson said: “We are extremely concerned for William’s welfare. He is in his 90s and has been in poor health recently.

“He is a very independent man. However, he is also a man of routine.”
