Deborah Will More resources are needed to deal with challengin­g behaviour to get enough staff to do prevention work/ de-escalate while still educating the children and break out spaces for the children to go when they are distressed, so that neither they or staff are in harm’s way. If you have multiple classes of children with frequent challengin­g behaviour having to share one breakout space, it’s no surprise that staff or other children get hurt and the meltdowns take longer to resolve.
